Dental Health Week

Bright Stars Preschool students had a lot of fun learning about the importance of tooth brushing.  We practiced writing dental related words, observed the changes to a hard boiled egg in Coke and brushed the stains off, counted and glued in the corresponding number of “cavities” to our “tooth,” made a yellow “tooth” turn white by brushing an enamel type mixture of glue and corn syrup on it, played roll and stamp tooth counting game, drew a picture of themselves with a big smile, and were visited by our local dentists, North Easton Dental Associates.

Massachusetts’ Department of Early Education and Care   requires that children in daycare for more than five hours brush their teeth once during the day.  Bright Stars staff observed improved tooth brushing techniques following the dentist presentation.
