Pumpkin Picking Field Trip

Bright Stars’ students enjoyed a field trip today at Langwater Farm.  Usually there is a weekly walking field trip to the farm stand to pick up the CSA, but today the tractor drove down the farm and picked everyone up!  Students participated in a one hour hayride and farm tour.  Along the way, everyone enjoyed fresh apples, got to see where Cheerios come from (OATS) and then made a stop at the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin.  On the way back, there was a stop at the corn and the farmer picked a few ears and gave instructions on how to use it to make popcorn.  Then students got to tour the greenhouse and pick out their own ear of corn to take home for popping – when it’s dry enough.

Students walked the length of the farm on the way back and enjoyed the fresh air and a beautiful Autumn day.

Bright Star’s students enjoy fun and educational activities, and weekly farm trips May-December. Come for a tour and get your child in on the fun!  There just a few slots available until next September!
